I was then taken from my mother when I was 3 and put up for adoption. I also have a biological sister that was adopted into a different home. I was then abused by my adoptive father for several more years. It has affected so many parts of my life and self esteem. My only goal in life has been to make sure my children have not had to suffer as I did. Then each generation can hopefully get healthier and stronger. I would love to become an active participant to fight child abuse. Despite what therapists told my mother to the contrary, I have never abused or neglected my children. Unfortunately abuse has affected them because of the healing process I have been in most of my life. It is a shame that people do not realize the depth of pain and harm that ANY abuse causes a child.
